As you are aware, weather forecasts indicate significant snow accumulation is expected on Sunday, Jan. 25, and Monday, Jan. 26. In anticipation of this weather event, please review the following important reminders:

If campus closure becomes necessary, all faculty and staff must be prepared to shift immediately to full remote learning and remote work. Employees designated as essential staff will still be required to report to campus as directed.

CUNY Alert will serve as the primary method for communicating any operational changes or disruptions. Please visit the CUNY Alert homepage to confirm your contact information and update your communication preferences. Closure and schedule information will also be posted on the CSI Website (homepage) and on the College’s official social media platforms.

If a determination is made to transition to remote operations, all non-essential staff whose duties can be effectively performed off-site are expected to:

  • Fully transition to remote work for the duration of the emergency;
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors and remain accessible during established work hours;
  • Use approved virtual platforms for meetings and service delivery;
  • Ensure that all responsibilities, tasks, reporting requirements, and service commitments continue without interruption until on-site operations resume safely.

Supervisors should confirm that remote-capable staff have clear instructions to maintain productivity and ensure continuity of services. As Monday marks the first day of spring classes, it is especially important that students have uninterrupted access to the support and services they need for a successful start to the semester.

If the campus remains open and on-site operations continue, please prioritize safety:

  • Drive with caution and allow extra travel time;
  • Use care when walking or commuting in snowy conditions, dress warmly and consider appropriate footwear for snow.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining a safe and smooth transition during this weather event.
