Happy New Year from the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development.

We’re excited to kick off 2026 with a series of engaging programs designed to support your teaching and professional growth. This January, join us for workshops that make the most of Brightspace—from creating accessible course materials to setting up assignments with TurnItIn for plagiarism detection. Please go online to explore all upcoming workshops. These sessions are open to all full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, professional staff, and CLTs.

Also, open to all CUNY faculty is the 10-Day Syllabus Challenge asynchronous self-paced course, offered by Hunter College’s Academic Center for Excellence in Research & Teaching (ACERT) in partnership with the Center for Digital Learning and Innovative Pedagogy (CDLIP). It’s packed with practical ideas to strengthen your syllabi for the spring semester. Find out more about this event online and sign up to take the challenge.

Did you know that all CUNY staff, faculty, and students have free access to the online New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Chronicle of Higher Education? Simply click the hyperlinked title to register with your CSI email and set up alerts for the topics that interest you.

Looking ahead to Spring 2026, we are planning a lineup of exciting events, sessions to include digital publishing platforms, syllabus redesign for academic integrity, a book talk with an award-winning CSI faculty member, and sharing the results of the faculty survey on AI. Stay tuned — details will be posted shortly on the CSI Events Website.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you via email at CTLPD@csi.cuny.edu or by telephone 718.982.4007.
