Did you ever wonder what happens to the items you throw in the trash? Are you an aspirational recycler? Are you curious about composting? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider volunteering for three Fridays in February and March to help us conduct research by applying the scientific method to sort through campus trash cans, and collect data.

To be better environmental stewards, CUNY is performing waste audits to quantify the volume and type of waste produced on each campus. CSI Sustainability is heading up this effort on our campus.

We can’t do it alone we need your help. Please register.

We are seeking faculty, staff, and student volunteers to show up and represent this important cause. PPE (protective coveralls, gloves and masks) will be provided. Please help us sort and weigh trash to collect data that will be used for planning and decision making to keep CSI Green.

Training:

Next Thursday, Feb. 26 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm, we will host a virtual training. This meeting will also give you a chance to ask questions.

We would like all of you to attend this training if you are planning to participate in any of the Waste Audits.

Waste Audits Dates: Pick the dates you can attend. You don’t have to attend all of them.
