The College of Staten Island will host Emerging Ethics in Nursing and Healthcare on Thursday, March 5, from 2:30pm to 4:15pm in the Springer Concert Hall. This free live event will explore the complex and evolving ethical issues facing healthcare providers, patients, and communities in today’s rapidly changing medical landscape.
The program will feature a presentation by scholar, professor, and author Michael J. Deem, whose work examines emerging ethical challenges in clinical practice and nursing education. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with real-life case studies and consider how new technologies and societal changes are shaping ethical decision-making in healthcare, with implications for both physical and mental health care delivery.
Sponsored by the Department of Nursing in the Division of Science and Technology and the Mu Upsilon Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing, the event is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader community. Pre-registration is required, and the event has been submitted for co-curricular CLUE credit certification.
CSI students must register using their CSI email address and bring their Dolphin Card for check-in. For more information, contact Jessica Pizzolo at jessica.pizzolo@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.3810.
