The College of Staten Island will host its second annual Drag Show and Panel on Thursday, March 19, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Center for the Arts Williamson Theatre. Free and open to the public, the event promises a full-scale theatrical evening of performance, conversation, and community engagement, showcasing nationally recognized drag artists alongside opportunities for audience interaction.

Headlining the evening are acclaimed performers Lagoona Bloo, Hibiscus, and Britney Virazzano. Lagoona Bloo, a musician and actor known for appearances on America’s Got Talent and The Voice, brings her signature “Mermaid Popstar” persona to the stage. Hibiscus, a longtime drag artist and community advocate, is celebrated for her high-energy performances and charitable work supporting LGBTQ+ organizations. Staten Island native Britney Virazzano, a performer, dancer, and creative artist, completes the lineup with a showcase of local talent and artistry.

Following the performances, attendees will have the opportunity to engage more deeply with the artists during a panel discussion moderated by Professor Chris Verene, followed by a Q&A session and meet-and-greet. The program is designed not only to entertain but also to foster dialogue about drag as an art form, identity, and creative expression.

The event is organized by CSI’s LGBTQ+ Resource Center and the Department of Performing and Creative Arts, with support from the New York City Council through the CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium and additional backing from the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives. Community members, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend this vibrant celebration of performance and inclusion.

Admission is free, but registration is encouraged. RSVP here.
