Join us for “EMPOWERED VOICES: Immigrant Rights and Solidarity Workshop – A College of Staten Island Event for Empowerment, Education and Community Support on Tuesday, Mar. 3 on the second floor of the Center for the Arts (Building 1P).
This is a CLUE event that satisfies both credits: Personal Growth and Co–curricular.
Join the PSC-CUNY CSI chapter to learn about immigrant rights and solidarity work. Hear from experts and groups from CSI, CUNY, and the Staten Island community.
Beginning around 2:15pm, there will be tables on the second floor of 1P with information, materials, and representatives on hand from organizations including:
- CSI’s Immigrant Liaisons
- Community organizations who are active in Staten Island
- Student and youth groups
At 2:30, in Building 1P, Room 223, we will have panel of speakers from CUNY and Staten Island who will present information about their work:
- PSC-CUNY’s immigrant solidarity work
- Community organizations on Staten Island
- Know Your Rights and community safety
After the speaker panel concludes, members of the CSI RELAY team will lead a facilitated community conversation. Build connections, ask questions, and talk about what we need here at CSI in a safe, respectful setting.
