The HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program ia now accepting applications.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HSRA), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, runs a selective scholarship program, the Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP), designed to help alleviate the critical shortage of registered nurses currently experienced by certain types of health care facilities. The NSP awards scholarships to students enrolled or accepted for enrollment in Registered Nurse training programs. Scholarship recipients receive tuition, fees, other educational costs, and a living stipend in exchange for at least two years of post-graduation service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and currently enrolled in a professional registered nurse training program. Preference is given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need who are enrolled full-time.
The application deadline is Wednesday, June 1, 2011. For more information and to download an application, visit the Program Website.
Students who are interested in applying should contact Dr. Geoff Hempill at geoffrey.hempill@csi.cuny.edu or 718 982.2301 for assistance with their applications. Further information can also be found in the Career and Scholarship Center in Building 1A, Room 105.
