The College is undergoing a series of construction projects that will improve the safety and security for the students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus. These include an upgrade to the Campus-wide Site Lighting and Site Security systems. The Site Lighting project goals are to replace all current parking lot, walkway, and Loop Road lamps with more effective and energy-efficient lamps, as well as add additional poles to areas underserved by the current lighting system. This Site Lighting work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.
The campus is also undergoing a major enhancement to its security system. New talk-a-phones with cameras (TAPCs) are being installed throughout the campus to provide both visual and verbal security communication directly to our Public Safety office. The upgrade to the security system will continue in phases with a completion date of Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2014.
While these improvements are underway, the campus grounds are being disturbed to increase the connectivity with the installation of underground conduits. The contractors are restoring the property by backfilling areas and reseeding. Understandably, this will be an ongoing task as areas of the campus are disturbed.
We want to thank everyone in advance for their patience while these very important life safety projects are in progress. If you have any questions or would like to report any issues please, contact the Campus Planning and Facilities office at 718.982.3214.
