The CUNY Institute of Mexican Studies is proud to offer scholarships to CUNY students. The program seeks to award scholarships of up to $5,000 to undergraduate and graduate students. We anticipate being able to award 12 scholarships in 2014. The scholarship program recognizes, rewards, and promotes academic excellence and community service in the Mexican community. The goal of the program is to enable future leaders of the community to advance their educational goals, develop professional networks, and engage in service learning. Criteria for selection are academic excellence (recipients of this award usually have a GPA that is over 3.0), financial need, and commitment to service in the Mexican immigrant community. Preference is given to undocumented students of Mexican heritage.
Applications are available on the program’s Website and the deadline is Friday, Feb. 28.
Students seeking assistance with their applications may contact Michele Galati, Fellowship and Scholarship Advisor, at 718.982.2301 or michele.galati@csi.cuny.edu.
