I am pleased to announce that, following a nationwide search and extensive campus participation, Patricia Kahn, PhD has been appointed the new Assistant Vice President for Technology Systems at the College of Staten Island, effective Thursday, Apr. 3, 2014.
Dr. Kahn has many years of service in higher education technology services. Prior to coming to CSI, Dr. Kahn served as the Executive Director of Information Technology Services at Brookdale Community College since 2009. While at Brookdale, she reorganized the information technology division, as well as oversaw the implementation of major technological advancements. She also has extensive experience in academic technology and distance learning. During her nine-year tenure at Montclair State University (2000-2009), Dr. Kahn held various Information Technology administrative positions. She also served as the Director of Education at Lincoln Technical Institute (formerly The Cittone Institute) in Mount Laurel, NJ.
Dr. Kahn received her BS and MA from Manhattan College, and her PhD in Education from Capella University, with a concentration in Instructional Design and Online Learning.
I would also like to commend the outstanding work of the search committee chaired by Assistant Vice President Eduardo Rios. The committee’s diligence and hard work produced an impressive pool of applicants, ensuring the success of this important search.
