John Arena, assistant professor of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work, was named co-winner of the Oliver Cromwell Cox Book Award by the American Sociological Association for his book Driven from New Orleans: How Nonprofits Betray Public Housing and Promote Privatization. The award recognizes sociologically related books that make a distinguished and significant contribution to the eradication of racism.
