Hong-Bin Yu received her Ph. D. from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She spent two years at University of Virginia on her postdoctoral research to develop highly enantioselective multifunctional chiral polymer catalysts for asymmetric synthesis in Professor Lin Pu’s group. In the past eight years, she has been the lab coordinator in the Department of Physical Sciences at Wagner College, where she has taught chemistry lecture and lab courses and overseen general chemical education labs, lab safety and departmental lab management. Since 2001, Hong-Bin has been teaching chemistry courses at the College of Staten Island as a substitute assistant professor and an adjunct assistant professor.
