The College of Staten Island athletics department has announced the hiring of Michael Wilson, who has joined the Staten Island staff during the summer as the departments Strength & Conditioning Coach.
As the Strength & Conditioning Coach, Wilson will be in charge of getting our student-athletes in shape for their upcoming seasons as well as maintaining their fitness throughout their seasons.
“I would like to thank the Director of Athletics Charles Gomes as well as the entire coaching staff for this opportunity to work with the student-athletes to enhance their strength and fitness in all facets.”
Gomes added “I’m really happy to finally have Coach Wilson on board as this is something the department was missing and we’re hoping this can help bring our student-athletes to the next level on their respective field of play to continue to win championships and progress deeper into the NCAA tournament.”
A 2015 graduate of the College of Staten Island with a degree in Psychology, Wilson’s concentration has included Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness and Wellness, and Physiological Psychology.
Wilson comes to the College of Staten Island from One-on-One Physical Therapy where he was a Head Physical Therapy Trainer. Alongside his duties at One-on-One, Wilson has also served as a person trainer, implementing physical fitness programs for classes ranging for six to 30 participants.
Wilson holds CPR/AED and First Aid Certification alongside certifications as a Certified Functional Movement Screen Professional, Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Performance Enhancement Specialist.
