The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team has released its 2016-17 schedule, and the upcoming year features plenty of highlights throughout the year.
What better way to start the season than the Dolphins battling their cross-town NCAA Division I counterparts at Wagner College? The Dolphins and Seahawks will intro the season on November 15 at 7pm at what should be a rocking Spiro Center. From there the Dolphins will enjoy four-straight at the Sports & Recreation Center, including their home opener on November 19 against another first time opponent in Western New England on November 19, and their CUNYAC opener against John Jay College on November 29.
CSI will play four games against conference rivals before the winter holiday break, and will pick things up with a home date against Manhattanville College on December 28. After a home date against Baruch College on January 4, CSI will play seven of their next eight from there on the road in what will be a telling stretch for the team over a three-week stretch in January. The Dolphins will finish with three of their final four at home, including the season finale against defending CUNYAC Champs Lehman College on February 10.
The CUNYAC Postseason Tournament will kick-off with opening round play on February 16 and will finalize with the Final played at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium on Friday, February 24. The Dolphins finished 19-9 a year ago.
