College of Staten Island freshman forward Krista Anson had a productive week for the Dolphins in their three contests, and for her efforts she was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week.
Anson joined the Dolphins three games into the 2016 season and has hit the ground running. The offensive threat has been a constant focus of the team’s attack and despite a 1-2 week for the Dolphins, Anson was productive at the front line, posting a pair of goals on 9 shots attempted. Anson got her scoring started in CSI’s 9-0 win over St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn), posting the team’s sixth goal of the game at the 63rd minute mark. She was tied for third on the squad with six shots taken in just 36 minutes on the pitch. Just yesterday, Anson was the only goal scorer for the Dolphins in the loss to Montclair State University, posting a late first-half goal in the 40th minute.
For the season, Anson is second on the squad with four goals, adding an assist while posting the fifth-highest number of total shots on the team with 20.
The Dolphins are idle this week, and will pick up action on Monday, October 3, when they host SUNY-Maritime at 4pm at the CSI Soccer Complex.
