The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving team will look to extend their win streak this afternoon when they host St. Joseph’s College – Brooklyn at 12:00 pm.

Players to Watch (CSI): Jonathan Gorinshteyn paces the Dolphins in the pool with 251 points on the year, followed closely by Nicholas Defonte. Out of Gorinshteyn’s top-3 finishes this season, 15 of them have been in first-place. For Defonte, 9 of his finishes have been first-place. Adil El Haddad has taken the top spot 10 times this season, edging out his brother Ayman El Haddad by two. For the women, Alyssa Dunn has dominated the diving board this season, tallying five first-place scores. In the lanes, Victoria Crea and Ewa Wojciechowska have blazed through the water to handily defeat their opponents. Wojciechowska has 21 first-place finishes this year while Crea has 10.
Players to Watch (SJCBK): Juan Sandoval leads the Bears in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.15. Danny Zhang is also quick in the pool for the Bears, posting a time of 1:07.50 in the 100-yard freestyle. Valerie Rodriguez paces her team in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:16.42. Shannon Doherty will look to challenge the Dolphins’ top swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle as she leads the team with a time of 27.14.
News & Notes: The Bears have struggled on the men’s side this season, posting a 0-8 record after finishing last season 0-9. The women have found success, picking up five wins and have won three out of their last five outings. The Dolphins are coming off of a win and will look to extend that this afternoon against the Bears. Two out of the three Dolphins wins this season have been in their home pool.
