Players to Watch (CSI): Antoinette Galbo continues to be productive both in the field and at the plate for the Dolphins. Galbo has 35 assists on the year, second only to her neighbor Patricia Riches who has 66. At the plate, Galbo is batting .343 with 9 RBI and six extra-base hits. Riches paces the team with a .418 batting average and has struck out just once this season. Jamie Holmes has been a powerhouse at the dish this season, batting .365 with a team-high 10 doubles and 18 RBI. In the circle, Nicolette Trapani keeps the opponents guessing and leads the team with a 2.97 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
Players to Watch (BC): Nicole Bellini is the danger at the plate for the Bearcats, batting .469 on the year with 13 RBI and just three strikeouts. Chae Padron paces the squad with 19 RBI and sits third on the team with a .351 batting average. Cassandra Lagana gets on base 48% of the time and when she does, she is always a threat to steal as she has 13 stolen bases on the year to go along with her .426 batting average. Lagana helps her own cause as she is also the teams leading pitcher with a 6.76 ERA and 59.0 innings pitched.
News & Notes: Staten Island has won 9 straight against Baruch College, stretching back to 2014. The last loss the Dolphins suffered against the Bearcats at the CSI Softball Complex came on April 21, 2011. Overall, the Dolphins are 29-3 all-time against the Bearcats at home. Baruch has played well away from home this season, picking up eight of their 10 wins on the road. Today, however, they come in riding a three-game losing skid after dropping a non-conference bout against Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins recently had their three-game win streak snapped yesterday by #6 Moravian College.
