Players to Watch (CSI): The CSI men are being paced by the extraordinary swimming of Alex Semchenko, who leads all with 109 total points collected and 11 Top Three finishes in individual events.  He is followed closely by Khaled Hammam, who despite missing some time in the pool this season has 107 total points.  Michael Stora, with 96 points leads CSI with eight first-place finishes in individual races and is tied with Semchenko for 11 Top Three finishes overall.  Look for divers Xavier Nicholson and Thomas Bridgeman to make an impact on both the one and three-meter boards.  For Bridgeman, the FIU Meet will mark his debut as a non-athletic transfer.  On the women’s side, CSI is getting very good production from Lisnette Solano, who leads all Dolphins with 88 total points and 11 Top Three finishes in individual events.  her four first-place finishes also leads the team.  Kimberly Hernandez is next in line with 79 points with most of those coming as part of relay competitions.  Cecelia Mauro has 76 points and has been showcasing in distance events.  Rachel Beyer will be making her CSI debut in this meet as well.
News & Notes: The last time CSI was in Miami for training they participated in the Florida International multi-team meet and fared well.  CSI came in fifth on the men’s side and sixth on the women’s side two years ago out of seven schools in total.  Last year, FIU hosted 12 teams at their annual meet.  Last year, FIU won their very own meet.  The meet today will consist of 28 events, 14 for each side and like the title of the meet would indicate, most of the events will be sprint events ranging from 50 to 200 yards in most of the four major strokes, along with relays and diving.
