In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall, the College of Staten Island Stonewall 50 Committee invites members of the LGBTQ+ and Ally communities from all ages and walks of life to record conversations about their lives and experiences in a post-Stonewall world.
Is there someone with whom you would like to have a brief, ten-minute conversation with about a shared experience or a changing perspective? Are you interested in learning how someone from a different background has navigated their journey? Would you like to compare notes with a member of the high school or College community about being LGBTQ+?
We are inviting people to sign up for a slot on the following three dates to come to WSIA Radio in the Campus Center (Building 1C) and talk:
Monday, May 20: 10:00am to noon
Wednesday, May 22, 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Friday, May 24, 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Sign up online.
You can sign up to talk to someone you know, or you can choose to have a conversation with someone you’ve never met. Come with questions of your own, or feel free to draw sample questions from a bowl and have a conversation.
These conversations will be recorded and archived at the CSI Library. Selected segments will be broadcast on WSIA, 88.9 FM. You may remain anonymous.
