In celebration of Women’s History Month, the CSI Library, in collaboration with the Office of Student Life, invites you to an online event, “A Centennial Legacy: Voting Rights in View of the 19th Amendment.” This CC CLUE event will take place on Tuesday, Mar. 23 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Our guest speaker (and CSI alumna) Gabriella Leone, History Archives Manager at the Staten Island Museum and curator of the exhibition Women of the Nation Arise! Staten Islanders in the Fight for Women’s Right to Vote, will reflect on the legacy of grassroots activism for women’s suffrage. Learn about the tactics suffragists employed to claim their right to vote and bring about political change in their community. Consider how their commitment to sparking civic engagement and political participation still resonates today.
