The City University of New York is offering a new summer undergraduate research program for talented undergraduates interested in careers in scientific research.
The eight-week program runs from Monday, June 7 to Friday, July 30. It is open to undergraduates completing their sophomore or junior college year who are interested in key research areas within the biological, physical, and chemical sciences and engineering. Criteria for admission to the program include academic performance and a demonstrated interest in a research career (including prior research experience, which is not required). Successful applicants will be matched with a faculty mentor at one of the CUNY senior colleges based on their own scientific interests and will participate in a weekly lecture/workshop series on topics related to their research, culminating in a final poster session where each student will present his/her own work.
A stipend of $3,500 is offered to applicants accepted into the program and they will also receive a New York City “cultural passport” and monthly MTA Metro Cards.
