Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the official opening of the Willowbrook Mile on the campus of the College of Staten Island, this Saturday’s “Walk the Mile” event has been postponed again, due to the rain and trecherous flooding conditions of the metro area. The new date is on October 7, from 10am – 2pm.
The Willowbrook Legacy Project of the College of Staten Island will lead visitors through the Willowbrook Mile stations, chronicling the history of The Willowbrook State School and the advocacy that led to its closure and the unending pursuit of justice for persons with disabilities.
