The Northeast-10 Athletic Conference recently announced a College of Staten Trio to its Academic All-Conference Team. William Kwan, Jordan Swanson, and Anthony Attenborough were among 72 student-athletes to receive Academic All-Conference recognition after 19 Dolphins appeared on the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll during the season. To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference Team a student-athlete must compete in two-thirds of varsity sports contests as a significant contributor while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.30.
Kwan was named the NE-10 Swimmer of the Week early this past season and remained a big contributor for the Dolphins throughout the 2023-2024 campaign. He has been a part of three record-setting relays as a Dolphin and ranked top-10 in the NE-10 this past season in the 200 Breast.
Attenborough also made a major impact during CSI’s first season in the NE-10 ranking in the top-10 in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, and 50 Fly. Most notably, Attenborough ranked fifth in the conference in the 100 Fly with a time of 51.13s. Individually, he is the CSI program record-holder in the 500 and 1000 Free, and he has contributed to an additional four record-setting relays.
Swanson set the program record for the Dolphins in all Women’s Diving events last season and qualified for NCAA Nationals for the second consecutive season this past year. A winner of NE-10 Diver of the Week this season, she also earned the Dolphins their first medal at the NE-10 Conference Championship in February with a third-place finish in 1-Meter Diving.
The three Academic All-Conference honorees for the Dolphins affirms what was a very successful first season for the program in their new conference both in the pool and in the classroom. The full NE-10 release containing all Academic All-Conference honorees can be found here.
