Staten Island Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Interim Regional Director Edward Piszko gave a great presentation to a group of graduate students from the University of Calabria in Italy on July 10.

Prior to Piszko’s presentation, he introduced himself and his staff and facilitated roundtable introductions from the 14 graduate students. Many of the students were surprised to learn that the SBDC offers its services to small businesses at no-cost, as such a program does not seem to exist in their respective countries. After the presentation, there was a Q&A session where the students were happy to share their thoughts about the SBDC and their future professional ambitions.

SBDC staff members who also attended were:

  • Angela Chuppe – Office Manager
  • Joe Bottega – Certified Senior Business Advisor
  • Joe Muller – Certified Business Advisor
  • Bonnie Arciero – Marketing Business Advisor
  • Youssef Yehia – Marketing Intern

The presentation was coordinated by Winnie Brophy, the Director of Special Programs and Initiatives at the Center for Global Engagement at the College of Staten Island/CUNY.
