Welcome back. As the Fall 2024 semester starts tomorrow, CSI’s IM and REC Sports programming is onlineand ready for viewing and registration.
Open Rec Sports starts on Monday, Sept. 9. This includes open gym times for basketball and volleyball. Pre-Tournament Open runs for Co-Ed Flag Football begin on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Check out our IM and REC Monthly Calendar for everything happening and offered in the Sports and Rec Center (Building 1R) for September.
Upcoming Sports Tournaments: 1v1 Basketball and 3-Point Contest on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym (Building 1R) and a 3v3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, Sept., 27 also at 4:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym (Building 1R). Pre-registration is preferred for all of our Fall 2024 sports tournaments, go online to view dates and to start registering yourself or a team. (Note: All team members must be current CSI students or staff.).
Upcoming Special Events: Next week, during CSI Student Life‘s Weeks of Welcome (WoW), IM and REC will be on hand in the Campus Center (Building 1C) from noon to 4:00pm hosting a tabling PLINKO Raffle Info table event from Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 3-5. I encourage students to visit me, ask questions, take information, and play the famous PLINKO game from the Price is Right for a chance at a gift card. More special events are coming in October and November. Stay tuned.
Lastly, IM and REC currently offers the following competing sports clubs: Cheerleading/Stunt, Women’s Bowling, Women’s Flag Football, Esports, and starting this semester, a competitive dance team. For more information, email salvatore.caruso@csi.cuny.edu.
Faculty/Staff: If your department/office would like a poster for IM and REC to be placed in your area, please contact me privately and I will be happy to visit your office and personally hand you a poster. Thank you for your support.
