This is an important reminder about the CUNY policy change regarding the last day a student may withdraw with the grade of W:
Effective Fall 2024, the last day for students to withdraw from a class has reverted back to being the day after 60% of the term has elapsed. For the current term, that date is Wednesday, November 6, 2024. After 11:59pm on November 6, 2024 students will no longer have the ability to drop a course on their own through Schedule Builder.
Please note the following:
- It is important for students to receive timely guidance from their advisors and instructors so that they can make an informed decision about whether to remain in a class or officially withdraw.
- Students withdrawing from all of their courses before the 60% date will have all of their Federal Direct Loans, Pell, and SEOG recalculated. They will be responsible for any balance due to the College after such recalculation. Please advise students to see their academic advisor as well as a financial aid advisor (if applicable).
- For further information about the potential impact of course withdrawals, please visit Withdrawing and Financial Aid Eligibility.
In the event your student has issues or difficulties completing the course withdrawal process on their own, you may submit a Registrar Request Form on their behalf.
