As we continue our journey through this busy semester, I’d like to remind everyone of the importance of safety when sharing our roads and sidewalks. Within our vibrant 204-acre campus located in the heart of Staten Island, we are all partners in creating a safe environment, whether you are a driver, pedestrian, or bike or e-bike rider.

Please keep these safety tips in mind:

  • Drivers:  Be alert for pedestrians and cyclists, especially at crosswalks. Obey stop signs and slow down at our speed humps.  Never text while driving. Drive slowly (never more than 25 mph on campus) and always yield to pedestrians.
  • Pedestrians:  Stay aware of your surroundings, avoid distractions like mobile phones, and walk on sidewalks when available.
  • Bike and E-Bike Riders:  Ride with caution, especially near campus buildings and high-traffic areas. Remember to yield to pedestrians.

We are committed to everyone’s safety, and your cooperation is essential. By working together to respect each other’s space and maintain situational awareness, we can keep our campus safe and accessible for everyone.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Stay safe and be happy.
