Continuing the trend of establishing an international presence for the Women’s Soccer program, Arielle Uy was invited to participate on the senior team of the Philippines Women’s National Team. Helping her achieve what was a lifelong dream, the invitation afforded Uy the experience of working alongside the most accomplished players and coaches in the country. The opportunity comes on the heels of her senior season at the College of Staten Island playing for CSI Women’s Soccer Head Coach Alex Mendolia. Over the summer, Mendolia worked on the support staff for the U.S. Women’s National Team that won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Following the Olympics, he also worked with the team in January’s Senior and Futures National Training Camp.

Mendolia views the invitation as a testament to Uy’s work ethic, and the CSI Head Coach was excited to see her hard work culminate with this opportunity. “We are all so proud of Ari for receiving this opportunity,” Mendolia said. “She is an extremely hard-working and dedicated player, and it is no surprise that she was invited to National Training Camp. We wish her the best!”

Uy joined the Dolphins in 2022 and saw limited action late in the season. However, she assumed a much larger role following the arrival of Mendolia in 2023. That season, she posted career-highs in goals, assists, shots, and minutes. In arguably the best game of her career, she tallied a goal and two assists in a three-point effort against Georgian Court University. The following season in 2024, she appeared in a career-high 15 games and registered the third goal and third assist of her career.

Thankful for her time with the PWNT, Uy is also appreciative of everyone who helped put her in the position to secure this opportunity. “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play alongside the best of the best,” Uy said. “It was always a dream of mine to come back home and play at the highest level. It was truly an amazing, fun, and humbling experience. I want to thank everyone who has helped me develop into the player I am today, and I hope that I continue to grow and make them all proud.”
