The Eta Lambda Chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars at CSI will host its 14th Annual Induction Ceremony on March 10, 2026. Welcoming new members into the prestigious society.
The ceremony will take place at 3:00pm in the Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts (Building 1P). The event celebrates students, faculty, and scholars who have demonstrated excellence in international education, scholarship, and global engagement.
Our keynote speaker this year is Elizabeth Krawczun ’14, former President of the CSI Alumni Association and alumna of the College of Staten Island. In her address, “From Jamkhed to Santiago: Lessons in Study Abroad,” Krawczun will reflect on how her study abroad experiences shaped her sense of self, her understanding of community, and inspired her interest in public health.
She celebrates the achievements of this year’s inductees using Phi Beta Delta’s values as a lens for how international education can enrich lives and inspire meaningful engagement in an interconnected world.
Elizabeth Krawczun is a former President of the CSI Alumni Association and a distinguished alumna of the College of Staten Island. A graduate of the College’s Verrazzano Honors Program, she was named the 2014 CSI Salutatorian in recognition of her academic excellence and leadership, as well as a member of the CSI chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.
During her time at CSI, Elizabeth focused her studies on global health initiatives, engaging deeply in research and service aimed at addressing health disparities. She was actively involved in leadership and community service activities, demonstrating a strong commitment to civic engagement and social responsibility.
She later earned a graduate degree in Medical Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, further advancing her academic and professional interests in global health, culture, and medical systems. In recent years, she completed an MBA at Baruch College to gain experience in navigating the intersection of patient care, technology, and strategic operations planning.
Elizabeth now works for Epic Systems, a company that develops software systems for electronic health records, where she is involved in the preparation, training, and implementation of these systems with Northwell Health. She plans to continue working in the healthtech field and address the implications of the use of AI in healthcare.
