The College of Staten Island Center for Global Engagement invites students, faculty, and staff to explore international perspectives through its Spring 2026 World on Wednesday lecture series. Held weekly throughout March, the virtual series highlights the diverse global expertise of CSI faculty and alumni, offering insight into international communication, culture, business practices, and global health.
The series begins on March 4 with Dr. Bilge Yesil from the Department of Media Culture, who will examine global communication and power politics, including Turkey’s international media initiatives and the influence of English-language media outlets created by China and Russia.
On March 11, Dr. Chandan Acharya of the Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business will share reflections from his Fulbright experience in Nepal, providing an inside look at Nepali culture, cuisine, and daily life.
Two additional sessions round out the month. On March 18, Dr. Jong Gyu Park, Associate Professor of Management, will present on Korean workplace culture, exploring leadership, teamwork, and organizational dynamics within Korean companies, including major entertainment firms.
The series concludes on March 25 with CSI alumna Agnes M. Fallah Kamara ’17, who will discuss her post-conference reflections on autism research and stakeholder engagement in Sierra Leone and Liberia, highlighting both challenges and progress across the region.
Sponsored by the Center for Global Engagement, the World on Wednesday lecture series underscores CSI’s commitment to fostering global awareness and cross-cultural understanding within its campus community. All sessions will be held via Zoom from 12:20pm to 1:10pm and are open to the campus community.
