Due to the high heat and humidity in the forecast this evening, the Buildings and Grounds team is working under direction from CUNY to meet the New York State Independent System Operator (NYSISO) energy reduction target. This is a normal energy reduction target to manage our energy usage and will not impact the workday or classes.

To support this effort:

  • Building Temperatures: Indoor temperatures will increase subtly at approximately 5:30pm today. While interior temperatures may rise slightly, the Central Plant will work to minimize the impact on occupied areas.
    • For any climate-related concerns, please contact the plant directly at 718.982.3204 or x3205.
  • Energy-Saving Actions: All campus occupants can contribute by turning off lights and fan coil units in unused rooms, and shutting down computers, appliances, and other non-essential electronics during this period.
