Last week, the College of Staten Island campus was buzzing with excitement at its Involvement Fair. As the 2026 fall semester begins for our students, the College had a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy.
The fair certainly wasn’t hard to find when all students had to do was follow their classmates carrying balloon animals. The event began with club tables where anyone could learn more about how to get involved in campus life. From Women in Business to the American Sign Language club, there was something for everyone.
Each table had a QR code that students could scan to find out more if they were interested, as well as some free items for them to enjoy. There were additional exciting activities like bounce castle obstacle courses to rock climbing walls. Students were able to participate in them by themselves or with some friends.
If students wanted to unwind after classes, they were able to sign in and get tickets for drinks and food, from barbecue buffets to cotton candy.
Participants gave a wide variety of answers for why they came. One student said she came for the PG CLUE credit and didn’t know what to expect because she was in her first-year. She was a little nervous since she hadn’t been to an event on campus before. But once she came to the event, she immediately felt welcomed and excited to begin this new semester at CSI.
Another student actually heard about the event at one of their classes and came with their classmates to enjoy the festivities. From learning about the clubs to enjoying food after a day of classes, there was so much to do and see. So many students were amazed that this was happening on our very own campus. Many had no idea that CSI even had events like this, but now that they know, it’s clear they’ll be back for more.
