The College of Staten Island will celebrate International Education Week (IEW), November 16-20, with a series of events highlighting the cultural diversity of the campus community and the importance of international education, global perspectives, and cross-cultural understanding.

Organized through a collaboration among the Admissions Office, Athletics Department, Student Government, Student Life’s Campus Activities Board (CAB), Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars, and the Center for Global Engagement, the celebration will bring together students, faculty, and staff for opportunities to explore cultures, share experiences, and discover the many ways international connections enrich the college experience.

While International Education Week officially takes place November 16–20, several events will kick off the celebration earlier in November, extending the opportunity for the CSI community to participate.

Four CSI faculty and staff members will share stories about the spices used in their kitchens and the cultural traditions behind them through a series of brief, 15-minute presentations. The program will also feature cultural cuisine and prizes.

One to World: Intercultural Competency Workshop

Tuesday, November 24 | 2:30pm | Green Dolphin Lounge

Continue the global conversation with an intercultural competency workshop presented by One To World. Designed for the CSI community, with a particular focus on students, the workshop will provide an opportunity to explore cross-cultural communication, understanding, and engagement.

International Education Week is an opportunity to recognize that global learning extends well beyond the classroom. Through cultural exchange, international experiences, and conversations with people from different backgrounds, students gain perspectives and connections that help prepare them to participate in an increasingly interconnected world.

All members of the CSI community are encouraged to take part, explore something new, and celebrate the cultures, experiences, and perspectives that make the College of Staten Island a vibrant and diverse campus community.
