This is the fifth year that we will be collecting holiday stockings and gifts for Staten Island Project Homefront. Thanks to all who have supported our troops in the past.
We must remember the sacrifice that our soldiers are making when they are overseas. They will be away from home and their loved ones for the holidays. Last year, many of our troops were very happy to receive your gifts of sporting equipment (footballs, soccer balls, etc.) and small hand-held games.
If possible, we would like to send similar gifts this year. Groups can also chip in and send a gift that the soldiers can share. All gifts that will help to entertain our troops are welcome.
A personal note to the soldiers may be enclosed with your package. We have received some thank you letters.
Anyone interested can give their package to Urszula Echols in the Student Veterans Center in Building 1C, Room 219 or Cheryl Wu in the Bursar’s Office in Building 2A, Room 105. Please drop off your gifts by Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 to allow time for shipping.
Let our troops know that we have not forgotten them.
