Jean Tsui completed her PhD at UC Irvine. Her research focuses on late imperial Chinese literature and intellectual history. Currently she is working on a book manuscript titled Affective Betrayal of Translated Political Modernity in late Qing China. Jean will be teaching classical and modern Chinese literature at CSI, and is very interested in developing courses on Japanese literature and culture.
