Adelphi University captured wins in both the men’s and women’s column on Tuesday evening at the CSI Sports and Recreation Center. The Adelphi women finished with a score of 77-66 while the men finished with the same score, 77-66. The Dolphin women are now 3-5 overall while the men see a 3-3 overall record.

Highlighting the women’s side was the team of Lauren Overeem, Vasiliki Stergioula, Shannon McCormick and Patricia Velloza who started it off for the Dolphins with a 5:38.47 time in the 400 Medley Relay. Also highlighting it for the women was Natasha Caicedo who saw a second place finish in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 18:53. Stephanie Collyer shined by capturing first in the women’s 1 meter diving with a score of 152.47 and also in the 3 meter dive with 176.85 score.

Prominent on the men’s side was the 400 Yard Medley Relay team of  Mitchell Lovell, Andrey Tarasov, Danila Novikov and Timur Rakhimov who touched in at 3:36.38. Rakhimov later impressed by grabbing a second place win in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.28, less than one second behind the first place winner.

The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday, January 21, where they will take on Lehman College in a 1:00 pm meet. CSI will return home on Tuesday, January 24, for a 6:00 pm meet against Old Westbury.
