Provost Bill Fritz has announced the appointment of Dr. Susan Holak as the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness at the College of Staten Island, following a nationwide search and with extensive campus participation.
Dr. Holak has served as the Interim Associate Provost at the College of Staten Island since 2007. Her prior positions at CSI include Director, Macaulay Honors College (2005-2007); Deputy Director, Honors College (2004); Marketing Area Chairperson, Department of Business (2003-2007); Master’s Program Development Coordinator, Department of Business (2000-2005), and she is a tenured Professor in the Department of Business.
Dr. Holak holds a PhD and MPhil in Business (concentration in Marketing) from Columbia University and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she was named to Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honorary society. Dr. Holak obtained a Leadership Certificate from the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration.
Dr. Holak’s research interests include new product development, consumer behavior, and cross-cultural marketing. She has presented at numerous professional conferences; published many papers in premier business and related journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Business Research; written book reviews; served as a reviewer for professional journals, and maintains an active publication and presentation agenda. Dr. Holak is also the recipient of several honors and awards.
