Thanks to everyone who has supported Staten Island Project Homefront with holiday stockings for the last three years.
If you are interested again in sending a Holiday gift to our soldiers overseas, it has been suggested that we send something that would be entertaining for our sevicemen. Instead of our usual toiletries and snacks, it was suggested by Project Homefront, that we send sporting equipment like footballs & soccer balls or small handheld games so the soldiers can have some joy for the holidays.
Everyone can chip in as a group and send something our soldiers can share. Large games are discouraged since shipping them is difficult, and postage is becoming very expensive for Project Homefront.
Anyone interested can drop off their packages at the Bursar’s Office in Building 2A, Room 105 or give them to Urszula Echols in the Student Veteran Center in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 219.
Please bring your gifts before Wednesday, Nov. 11 to allow time for shipping.
Let’s make sure that our overseas soldiers know that we have not forgotten them.
