CSI Professor of Music Sylvia Kahan is delighted to invite you to a lecture and booksigning to celebrate the release of her new book, In Search of New Scales: Prince Edmond de Polignac, Octatonic Explorer (University of Rochester Press, 2009) on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street.
The lecture, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, will be held in in Room 3491 (Third Floor); this will be followed, at around 6:30pm, by a booksigning and reception in the Music Program Lounge on the same floor. Books will be available for purchase at a significantly reduced price. Joining Prof. Kahan for the lecture will be David Smey, who created the musical examples for the book.
