November is CUNY Month, a celebration of the people and programs that enrich every part of the University, and in celebration of the COllege of Staten Island’s contributions to the Staten Island community, Borough President James Molinaro has declared that November is CUNY Month in all of Staten Island.

In his proclamation, President Molinaro points to the significant impact that the College makes on the lives of Staten Islanders and, therefore, the entire borough, noting that “CSI collaborates with high schools and community organizations to offer exceptional education opportunities in the hopes that these students will one day join the ranks of the over 55,000 CSI Alumni worldwide, a group that includes educators, doctors, film makers, business entrepreneurs, judges, scientists, and Emmy Award winners, confirming the value and practical utility of a CSI education.”

CUNY Chancellor Matthew Goldstein invites everyone, to get on the CUNY “Success Express,” by visiting CSI, not only to enjoy the month-long celebration of events on campus, from lectures to films to concerts, but also to take a tour of what this campus has to offer by taking advantage of the Open Houses and Graduate Information Sessions that are being offered for prospective students.

Goldstein notes that CUNY is on the move as “[t]he number of high-achieving students coming to the University is surging. Our students are winning prestigious awards and fellowships in the nation. Our partnerships with the philanthropic community are providing new opportunities for students at every college.”
