We write to remind you that children are prohibited from entering research laboratories at the College of Staten Island. Even a supervised child can accidentally come to harm, or cause harm to others. Our research spaces are designed to be used by students, faculty, and staff who are adults and who have received training on the many hazards that laboratories present. Having a child in the lab puts you and the College in violation of local, state, and federal laws and safety regulations.
Please do not endanger a child, or others in the building, by bringing a child to our laboratories. If you find that you are unable to be present to teach or perform other College duties because of an unforseen child care emergency, please notify your department chair.
Failure to abide by this restriction may result in your being denied access to College laboratory facilities.
