The College of Staten Island has a wide array of affordable study abroad programs that offer coursework for CSI credit and are designed to engage students in learning about the world on a first-hand basis. Over the past year, students from CSI and other CUNY campuses have participated in CSI-sponsored programs in Australia, China, Denmark, Ecuador, England, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and Spain. In addition to our programs, students also study in programs offered by other CUNY campuses and through the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS).

Still, most CSI students do not even consider studying abroad. We want to help more of our students take advantage of the wonderful opportunities available to them. Most financial aid applies and we have significant scholarships available to CSI students. One offers students up to $7,500 for a semester’s study in Florence.

Faculty support and encouragement is key to motivating our students to take the initiative to study abroad. We know that classroom presentations are an excellent way of getting the word out. Will you help us to bring these outstanding international opportunities to your students? If so, please call us to schedule a visit of ten to 15 minutes to talk with students about preparing for global citizenship through studying abroad.

Contact Russell Davis, by email at russell.davis@csi.cuny.edu, or at 718.982.2098. Let him know your name and phone number(s), the course title(s) and number(s), along with the scheduled time and place, approximate class size, and preferred date for the class visit. A study abroad advisor will contact you to confirm the details of the visit.
