The World on Wednesday Lecture Series presents “ Wukan Protests in China,” with Yuxin Hou, Sociology and Anthropology, on Oct. 24 in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 211 from 12:20pm to 1:10pm.

Dr. Hou will share his research on the Wukan Protests in China from 2011-2016.  These protests were an anti-corruption and land rights movement, which received extensive attention both in China and around the world. This presentation explores the complexity of Wukan’s protest, the interlaced game of multiple interest subjects, and the crucial role played by the media. Photos and video footage will be shown during the presentation.

The World on Wednesday lecture series is sponsored by the Center for Global Engagement.  This is a CC CLUE Event.
