In an extremely well contested game between the two Dolphins’ teams, Mount St. Vincent pulled away with the win. 3-2. After being down the first two sets, CSI came back to win the third and fourth set before MSV was able to take the deciding set. The hosting Dolphins fall to a 2-5 record while the visiting Dolphins extended to a 3-7 record.

Mount St. Vincent took set one by a score of 25-17 followed by a second set win with a 25-18 win. They thought they would have it easy in the third set but CSI has a different plan.

Staten Island came out strong taking a steady lead before pulling away to a 15-9 lead with five straight points behind the serving of JeanMarie Lewandowski.  With the score at 21-15, MSV scored three consecutive to close the gap to 21-18. CSI struck again taking the final four points with the help of two kills from Vasiliki Stergiuola for the 25-18 set win.  In the records going back to 2004, this was the first time CSI has never taken a set from Mount St. Vincent.

CSI began set four strongly with MSV tying twice before CSI went on a nine point run to put the score at 19-9, again with the help of three kills from Stergioula. CSI allowed MSV to score just three more points before taking the win, 25-13.

Despite tying the game on five occasions, CSI was never able to pull ahead in the fifth set as MSV took final five points for a 15-8 victory.

Ma Socorro Calleja had 16 kills and 29 digs for CSI while Stergioula totaled 13 kills and 13 digs. Libero Lewandowski totaled 23 digs. Gabriele Bradshaw and Jennifer Samuel had 11 assists apiece.
