The women of CSI’s cross country team took a third place win as the men finished in seventh place on Sunday morning in Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island, NY. On the women’s side, Queens College too first while Brooklyn grabbed second place. For the men, West Point captured first while Brooklyn and York followed.

CSI’s Amina Huseinbegovic timed in her best of the season to lead for the Dolphins at 23.58. Her finish put her in the top 10 of all runners. Joanna Villegas came in next with a 24.30 time in 15th place. In 26th place was Mallory Baio with a strong 25.30 finish. Bibi Ghafari crossed at 25.46 followed by teammate Jackie Jamaleddine with a 26.00 time. Closing it out for the Dolphins was Rebecca Liu at 26.32, Goodnews Nkama at 29.43 and Kubra Shirazi at 31.18.

For the men, Matt Pfaff completed first for CSI at 30.00. Sean Kelly was next for CSi at 31.50. Teamates Chris Gonzalez , 32.20, and Shawn Cybulska, 32.22,  pushed each other to finish in 47th and 48th place. Andrew Pate    was close behind with a 32.43 time. Mike Gratkowski closed the running for CSI with a 35.04 finish.

The Dolphins will travel to Van Cortllandt next Sunday, October 16 for a 10 and 11am meet hosted by York College.
