Women’s Soccer’s Lauren Neglia captured her first CUNYAC Player of the Week honor while freshman Liana DeNaro earned her first CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honor. Ilona Stoyko of women’s tennis earned a spot on the Player of the Week honor roll while fellow teammate Maryna Incherchera was given an honorable mention in the Rookie category.

Neglia, a senior forward, had a great week for the Dolphins. In the Dolphins 4-0 victory over York, she assisted Demi-Jean Martorano’s first goal of the game just two minutes into play. On Friday, against CCNY, Neglia had an assist to Natalie Tombasco’s goal and followed that by scoring her own goal in the second half of the Dolphins 2-0 final. Out of her six combined shot for both games

Freshman DeNaro scored her second goal of the season against York College off of a corner kick from Gabriela Galeano just six minutes into the game. She has seen some quality time in the games as a rookie, playing in 13 of the 14 games played so far taking a total of six shots with three on-goal.

Stoyko and Incherchera both took wins in their singles match against Brooklyn College last Tuesday despite the 6-3 loss. In No. 2 flights, Stoyko won by a score of 6-2,6-4 while Incherchera in the No. 5 spot defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1.
