John Jay College defeated the Dolphins in men’s soccer, 2-0, this afternoon to end their six game winless streak. CSI drops to a 3-5-1 overall record while seeing a 3-2 conference record. The Bloodhounds extended to 2-10-2 with a 2-3 conference record.

The Bloodhounds saw their first goal 21 minutes into the first half as Gnama Issouf scored off of Rashid Allah Morrad’s free kick just seconds after CSI received a yellow card.

John Jay wasted no time adding an insurance goal just three minutes later. This time Allah Morad scored the goal with an airborne swing off of Korede Griffeth’s corner kick.

The Bloodhounds saw four yellowcards for the remainder of the game from Abdoulaye Diallo, Issouf, Christian Munoz and goalie Steven Marino.

John Jay totaled 18 shots with nine on-goal to CSI’s14 shots with five on-goal.

Alfonso Castaneda attempted five shots for CSI with three on-goal. Navid Allah Morad totaled seven shots with two on-goal.

Ahmed El-Ghareib had seven saves for CSI while Marino totaled four saves.

The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday, October 8 as they take on Medgar Evers at 2:00 pm. The game will be played at the CSI soccer Complex but will count as Medgar’s home game.
