Dolphin Cove, CSI’s first residence hall, will open this fall. One of the key components to a successful housing program is the students who serve as Resident Assistants (RA). We are searching for eight student leaders with a strong commitment to developing community to apply for a position. As many students may not be aware of the opportunity, we are soliciting referrals from CSI faculty and staff.
The RA is responsible for facilitating positive relationships among students and staff, and for performing a variety of duties critical to the success of the community. We look for students who are positive role models, academically and personally. Other qualities include maturity, integrity, high levels of responsibility, and the ability to be leaders among their peers. In addition to an amazing leadership role, RAs receive compensation in the form of a studio apartment in the residence halls and a monthly stipend of $130.
All Resident Assistant candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
-have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA;
-must maintain at least 12 hours (undergraduate)/nine hours (graduate) of enrollment each academic term through employment;
-be in good academic, financial, and judicial standing; and
-pass a background check and drug screening.
We have created a form for you to nominate up to three students for this position. The form can be accessed online.
Once we receive notification, we will encourage them to apply for the position. As applicants are required to submit up to two recommendations, they may also ask you to serve as a reference.
Applicants must also attend an information session on Thursday, Jan. 31 to be eligible. Therefore, we ask that interested parties complete the referral form no later than Monday, Jan. 28.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
