The College shuttle bus service has been experiencing periodic delays attributed to the various DOT construction projects on the Staten Island Expressway. The numerous delays have been exacerbated due to the DOT’s pothole repair crews.
These repairs, in some instances, have closed two of the three active lanes causing the Expressway to almost shut down. The Expressway gridlock has diverted driver traffic patterns and caused congestion to the local streets, most notably Victory Bouelvard and alternate routes such as Richmond Terrace. The evening rush hour has created a perfect storm.
Unfortunately, these delays are beyond our control. We have reached out to the DOT to try and find out their schedule for road repairs so we may plan accordingly.
