Both the College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell today, getting downed by Ramapo College as part of non-conference action today in Mahwah, NJ.  The men fell 139-99, while the women fell 141-74.  The CSI men leveled to 1-1, while the women fell to 0-2.

On the men’s side CSI took gold in the 100-yard Backstroke with Danila Novikov’s time of 55.53, winning by less than three-tenths of a second.  Tim Sweeney was tops in the 200-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:59.46, and Novikov placed first again in the 200-yard Backstroke with a 2:00.36.  Sweeney doubled up his first place nod with a win in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 5:01.97.

On the women’s side, Dakota Dawkins took home a pair of first-place finishes, both in breaststroke events.  In the 200-yard installment, she won the race by less than four-tenths of a second, with a time of 2:40.01.

CSI is back in action for a home meet on Monday, November 3 against Queens College at 6pm.
